LoneStar Texas Tales

LoneStar Heritage Foundation and the Admiral Nimitz Foundation have collaborated to preserve the Texas way of life through the power of storytelling. The pilot project of LoneStar Heritage Foundation’s LoneStar Texas Tales story signs features the compelling narrative of the 1867 Gunfight: Shootout at the Nimitz Hotel.

Board members of the LoneStar Heritage Foundation, and General Steve Salazar (Ret.), CEO and President of the Admiral Nimitz Foundation, gathered for the unveiling of the first LoneStar Texas Tales sign. The custom sign, complete with a QR code linking to a video about a historic gun battle, serves as a reminder of how storytelling can breathe life into the past. This initiative aligns perfectly with the LoneStar Heritage Foundation’s mission to educate the public and preserve the unique Texas way of life.
